Product Description
NOTE: This is a general use stand-in for the OEM SST 09843-18020 used for setting ignition timing, checking ABS, transmission and airbag diagnostics.
NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE UNDERHOOD DIAGNOSTICS PORT NOT THE OBD PORT UNDER THE DASH!!!
I know what you are thinking, "A fancy jumper wire? For the Diagnostics port? I just use a paperclip". I use to be the same way.
There are two incidents that occurred within the past three months that forced a rethink of the jumper wire:
1. Person A needs some help tuning their truck before a smog check. Truck needs to be at 3deg Ignition Timing before heading out. Person A puts in the paperclip and starts the truck. Assuming its in diagnostic mode we proceed to set timing. Can't get it set correctly. Turns out the paperclip wasn't in the terminal enough to make contact, it was off to one side. Try again.
2. Person B calls in a panic that their truck is driving like hell after being serviced. Pop the hood and eventually find that the paperclip was still in the diagnostic port. Person B had forgotten the paperclip was even there.
So why not prevent dumb mistakes like this? The Metri-Pack male terminals give you nice, positive engagement and the length of the cable, coupled with the bright red coating, lets you know its still there and needs to be removed. Simple and easy and no need to hunt for a paperclip. Of course we threw in a paperclip or two as part of our Fuse and Accessory Kit but that's because everyone should have a paperclip handy :)

Exactly the right tool for working on my 1993 Toyota 4Runner with OBD1.
Recently needed to pull the exhaust system diagnostic codes for my 1993 Toyota 4Runner... And it has OBD1, could I have just used a bent paper clip? Sure, but why skimp when you have made these quality jumper leads available at a great price and it is certainly much more secure than a paperclip if one wants to leave it in place and run the vehicle in diagnostic mode while driving. Fast shipping and a quality product! Highly recommended for anyone who is working on a OBD1 system.

Well made
Bought this to have since all I’ve had is obd1 vehicles and got tired of using a paper clip. Works as intended and is well made for the price.

Perfect!
I grew tired of using a paper clip to reset my Service light on my 1987 BMW E30, this is the perfect tool for the job. I love it. I know my use case isn't for Toyota but it works perfectly for older BMWs too.

Jumper wire
Perfect for the 1994 land cruiser.

Simple but quality
I Googled and found this test wire as an alternative to Toyota's SST 09843–18020. I know, I could have grabbed a piece of wire and accomplished the same thing, but for a few bucks this jumper wire satisfies the need, works well, and provides a necessary tool for the Toyota owner. Well constructed.
